The effects of Job Stress on the Service Commitment of Employees in Nursing Care Institution

Abstract
In order to find out the job stress and the service commitment of the employees at nursing care institution and to validate the effect of those two variables, 10 nursing care institution randomly extracted and a survey was performed for 203 employees in Gyeong-buk province. The study results are as follows. First, the differences of the job stress according to the characteristic of the survey subjects were found. It appeared that being female, more younger, being single and fresh workers are associated with higher levels of job stress. Second, the service commitment according to the characteristic of the survey subjects are found. More older age, being families, being religious, week work times, and earn more than an average of 1,500,000 won monthly are associated with higher levels of service commitment. Third, it appeared that in the Model 1, the religion variable was effect on the service commitment and in the Model 2, gender, religion, role ambiguity and role overload variables appeared to be effect. Based on the above results, implications for improvement about service commitment of the employee were discussed.
